What is diabetes distress?
Managing diabetes every day can feel tiring, frustrating or worrying. This is called diabetes distress. It is very common, and it can make self-care harder.
Signs
- Feeling overwhelmed by everything you have to do
- Worrying about complications
- Feeling alone or judged
- Avoiding checks or appointments
What helps
- Tell your care team how you feel; they can help adjust your plan.
- Share some of the load with family or friends.
- Set one small, realistic goal at a time.
- Join an education course or support group, such as those run by the Qatar Diabetes Association.
